The Past and Present of the School




History
  • 1900 24th September the first Moravian two-form Business School came into being. Originally located in the Upper Square, it was later moved into a former post office building in Bratislavska street. Its founder Václav Hrubý became the first headmaster. The school was private until 1904.
  • 1909 Merchant Continuing School was attached
  • 1922 Construction of a new building in Bartošova street was completed and it has housed the school ever since
  • 1934 The four-year Business Academy and Business School were established.
  • 1945 The school changed its name several times after 1945: Higher Economic School and Lower Economic School, then Four-Year and Two-Year Economic School.
  • 1953 Evening and distant forms of study were introduced.
  • 1960 A new name was given to the school: Secondary Economic School and Economic School.. It offered new branches of study: general economics and economics of service.
  • 1965 National Language School, later Language School became a part of the school.
  • 1976 The branch of study called economics of service was replaced by administration and secretarial work.
  • 1979 A large extension to the school was finished.
  • 1980 Two-year study was abolished.
  • 1986 The branch of study administration and secretarial work was cancelled.
  • 1990 The name Business Academy has been reused for both the school and the branch of study.
  • 2003 Another branch of study - lyceum of economics - was included.
  • 2005 A new name of the school was adopted: Business Academy and Language School Entitled to State Exams, Přerov, Bartošova 24.
